THIS IS AN ASSIGNMENT
TO BE HANDED IN TO
GOOGLE CLASSROOM
AIM - TO DRUM ALONG WITH 'BILLIE JEAN'
FOR 1 MINUTE
FOR 1 MINUTE
STEP BY STEP WHAT YOU NEED TO DO!
1) PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
- It is no use trying to record yourself playing along with the track if you are out of time, don't have the correct rhythm or if your coordination and hands aren't in sync.
Hint: It's always a good idea to practice at slower speeds first and then get the speed all the way to max. The easiest way is to choose "0.75x" Speed in the options for your YouTube video and play along for a minute there, then try full speed!

2) PRACTICE USING UNUSUAL DRUMS
It's so important to BE CREATIVE
- Part of the assignment is for you to play the drum beat using anything you can find around the house.
- Want to use some pens as drumsticks? Go for it.
- How about using a box/container for your Snare Drum? If it sounds good - definitely!
- Using a stick or some chopsticks on some bottles for a Hi-Hat? Sounds awesome!
- Tapping your foot on an ice-cream container for a Bass Drum? You can do that too.
It's so important to BE CREATIVE
WE WANT YOU TO USE UNUSAL THINGS FOR THE ASSIGNMENT. IT'S PART OF THE CRITERIA!
REMEMBER: The hands a feet must stay the same, but you can use anything you like to make the noise!
It's much more important to be as accurate and steady as possible, than it is to be fast.

STEP 3: THE RECORDING
When you think that you have completed everything and you've played with the song for 1 minute. It's time to record! So let's show how you should set up your camera! The reason being is that it's important that we see everything that you're doing to ensure that you've done it correctly! |

The angle to use should be from the side.
To make sure that you have the best possible angle, it's best to show you drumming from the side.
